And my band director, who is gay, was getting REALLY mad at this one specific group of people because they couldn’t make a good line. At one point he threw a drumstick at them and shouted “OH COME ON! EVEN IM STRAIGHTER THAN THIS LINE!”

Any Color Guard members or captains out there? I’d like to give you guys a shout out for actually selling every band’s show. Most people don’t realize that the color guard helps tell the story of the music and drill that the band plays. They give the overall effect and are the ones who do the most to show the audience the plot of the show. All members of the band are basically actors on the field, but the guard members especially have to take on this role with their makeup, costumes, hair, flags, weapons, etc. A lot of band members don’t really realize all this. Do yourself a favor and make sure you show some appreciation to your color guard members (and the rest of the band too!). (:

Props to the guard peeps!
